101 Great Uses For A Disposable Camera

Ok, I haven't listed 101 examples here as that would be rather pointless and make for boring reading. But, there are many occasions when a disposable camera really is the best option.

My father has a really expensive digital camera that takes the most amazing photos you could imagine. He one of those people that takes it everywhere he goes and guards it with his life. It can be a little annoying when we are on vacation and he's constantly paranoid about its well-being. I do understand his fears, as it's not something you want lost, broken, or stolen, but I don't share them. Sure, I do have a digital camera, (although it's not as good as my dads). I also own a regular camera even though I don't use it too often. But, when I'm going on a vacation or I know that I'm going to be out and about, I prefer to use disposable cameras. I have done this for some time now and always will.

Several years ago, I purchased a disposable camera on a beach trip because I forgot my own camera. I didn't expect the photos to be that great, but they actually turned out to be really high quality. After that I was hooked. By having a disposable camera, I don't worry about damaging it. I don't need to worry about it being stolen as it only cost a few bucks, and I can toss it around a bit more carelessly and pack it without taking extra precautions. OK, they don't take photos quite as well as a proper camera, but I have never had a complaint about them. They even have disposable cameras that you can not only get wet but take underwater with you. I took an underwater disposable camera with me on my Bahamas trip because a decent underwater camere costs a small fortune. When the time came to swim with the dolphins and go snorkeling, I got some truly amazing shots. My only gripe was that sometimes the dolphins would kick up the sand with their swimming and the pictures didn't always come out clearly. The dolphins playful fun couldn't be blamed on the camera though.

If you are like me, you will have been to a wedding reception that has disposable cameras on the tables. Couples are often big fans of having these at their receptions for those moments that a photographer doesn't capture. They want their guests to take photos of themselves and each other, along with other moments that the bride and groom would love to have on film. Getting disposable cameras for your wedding reception isn't overly expensive and that's exactly what i'm planning to do when I get married next year. The expensive part comes when you have them developed. This is often more expensive than the camera itself.

The biggest complaint that I've heard is that when all of the disposable cameras are collected, there are still pictures that can be taken on each of the cameras but that's not real a bad thing. Just take the cameras that still have some pic's left on them on your honeymoon. Take the extra photos of things yourself. Or, just don't fill them up and pay less for developing less photos. In my opinion, that's nothing to complain about. There are always moments at weddings that people wish could be captured forever. By having disposable cameras for the guests, some of those moments can last forever.

Also, because it is now so common to use disposable cameras at weddings you can get good deals on buying them in packs of ten, twenty, or even 50 if you are having a large reception. You can get could deals when developing them in bulk to.

Sure, you will have to shell out when getting your disposable camera developed but at least your good camera will be safe.
