Don't Waste Money On The Wrong Camera Battery

As technology advances, the amazing things it can do often requires more power. This means that batterries have to keep up with our thirst for gadgets and one area that this relates to in a big way is digital cameras.

Long gone are the days of using simple AA batteries for your camera. As digital cameras have become more clever, complex, and offer us more and more features, the need for stronger camera batteries increases. pretty much any digital camera sold today will need something more than an AA battery to work. Even if your camera will accept an AA as its camera battery, be prepared to buy a lot of them. And I mean ALOT. you will be lucky if they last one hour! They are great for other things, but a digital camera will drain them quicker than a sieve. You should really be turning to lithium batteries for your digital camera battery needs nowadays.

But before you decide on a brand for your digital camera battery, it may be a good idea to buy a few different brands and experiment. This way you can find out which one will last the longest in your camera. It may be a difference of merely a few pictures, or you may find that one brand can outlast the others by a hundred or more! Because you go through so many camera batteries, you will need to make sure that you are getting the best value for money that you can.

Other cameras require completely different types of camera battery. These can be fairly expensive, and can cost you more than ten dollars for a set. If your camera requires this type of camera battery, then I would think about buying rechargeable batteries. They may be more expensive, but will save you a fortune in the long run. Some kits actually come with a recharger that can be used at home, as well as in your car. If you do think about buying a rechargeable camera battery, remember that they take time to re-charge. If you using your camera on vacation or going to a special event like a concert or sporting event, then you won't have time to wait for your camera battery to recharge. If this is the case, you will want to have two or three batteries charged and ready to use so that you will never run out of power at that crucial moment.

As with just about anything nowadays, you can find a camera battery online just as easily as in as in your local retail store. When buying online, you may find that you will save money also. But if you do buy online remember that because camera batteries are so small, you need to check that you are not being ripped of on the price of shipping. It really shouldn't cost any more than a few dollars to have your camera battery shipped to you as long as it's in the same country.

But no matter where you get your camera battery, remember to care for them well. If you are using a rechargeable, they will have a longer life if you drain them completely before you recharge, (this is actually true of almost any rechargable bettery, including your mobile phone). Also, if you are not going to be using your camera for a while, make sure you remove your camera battery before storing your camera away. Unused batteries can leak and if this happens, you may well end up having to throw your camera away and buy a new one! Not a good idea.
