After a recommendation from a friend I Now have a Canon Powershot 5.0 megapixel digital camera, and boy do I know better. The picture quality is nothing short of brilliant. There really is no other way to describe it. Ok, if i'm completely honest I don't think the digital camera has quite replaced the film camera just yet, but it has become very close. Yes, a film camera still has a better picture, but not that much better. You would be hard pressed to tell the difference in most cases. 5 megapixel cameras now give old film cameras a pretty run for their money. Besides that, the advantages of using a 5 megapixel camera over a film camera are obvious when you think about it. First of all You don't have to pay for film or wait for the picture to be developed. Also you can instantly see what your picture looks like, and if your not happy with it you can take it again. Unless you are getting into professional photography, a digital camera is surely the way to go! There is a bit of a downside when it comes to the 5 megapixel camera. Firstlyl, they are more fragile. Cameras in general are easily damaged, but much more can go wrong with a digital camera. There are thousands of different ways in which the sensitive electronics can get ruined by being jarred or knocked around. The other downside s that because of their value and popularity, people tend to steal digital cameras all the time. When I first got my 5 megapixel camera, no less than three people tried to grab it from me when I was on holiday. Luckily enough, I had it secured to the strap and was able to ward them off. But even so, I still take caution whenever anyone walks too close to me if I am wearing my camera around my neck. I don't want to lose it, after all. It costs a small fortune. But it has to be said, even in spite all of these downsides, I honestly think it is still worth it. My 5 megapixel camera has really changed the way I see the world. It is an incredible experience to be able to capture any image that I see. With my film camera I had to carefully select every image, once i'd taken a picture that was some of my film used. I couldn't delete it or go over it. Also, I never knew how it would come out until I had got the film developed. But now I can see it immediately! So if you are thinking of biting the bullet and turning to the world of digital I strongly recommend it. If you look after your 5 mega pixel camera it will give you many years service and save you a fortune in developing costs and films. In fact, if you want to save even more money, you can buy a good quality printer nowadays that won't cost the earth and will print your pictures onto photo paper. You won't be able to tell them apart from those that have been developed at your high street store. |
